Anxiety

Lord God, may I be troubled by nothing,
Frightened by nothing.
Everything changes,
But you don't change.
Patience obtains everything.
I shall want nothing if
I possess you.
You alone, God, are all I need.

St Teresa of Avila (1515 - 1582)

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Julian of Norwich (1342 - 1413)

Give us, O Lord, so firm a faith in your fatherly love and wisdom that we may be lifted above our anxieties and fears, and face the life of each day, and all the unknown future, with a courageous and quiet spirit.

Dear God,
Be good to me.
The sea is so wide
And my boat is so small.

Breton fisherman's prayer

I will be glad today
For the clouds or the rainbows.
Both are meant for my good
And without both, neither has meaning.
O God, whose grace is sufficient for all our needs:

lift us, we beseech you, above the doubts and anxieties of the present time, into the calm of your presence, that guarded by your peace we may serve you without fear all the days of our lives, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

Circle me O God
Keep Faith within, Doubt out
Keep Hope within, Despair out
Keep Peace within, Anxiety out
Circle me O God
Circle me O God
Circle me O God

The power to lift us up is stronger than all that holds us down.

Give us, O Lord, so firm a faith in your fatherly love and wisdom that we may be lifted above our anxieties and fears, and face the life of each day, and all the unknown future, with a courageous and quiet spirit.
